The Black Spider Ball

Did you know black spiders can dance?

The Black Spider Ball

By Maude Stephany

Welcome my friend, to the Black Spider Ball

the grandest, most elegant dance of them all.

We start and the music it sounds high and fine

as we sway and we swing on a thin silver line.

Around and around, we are spinning through air

drifting and falling with grace that's most rare.

We whirl and we twirl in an aerial ballet

We land on the ground where we start to sashay.

Scuffing our feet on the brown earthen floor

stirring up dust 'til we can dance no more.

We bow to our partner and bow to our friends

"Pleasure to dance with you; shall we dance again?"
